Note: Workshop Applications are still open, till Dec 12. Do it fast if you want to be included!
Workshops are one of the places where Intention really gets to show off its heart and showcase our community's gifts!
A big part of the culture of Intention is creating a safe place where people can explore their self-expression. Get vulnerable or silly or do something new and exciting, digest it all over meals with new friends, then shake it out and integrate it on the dance floor!!
Be aware that workshops are community created and Intention Gathering is not responsible for the content of individual workshops. Participants should always be checking in with their comfort levels and leaving any situation in which they aren't comfortable.
Confirmed Workshops at Winter Intention 2025 include the following (more will still be added!)
in no particular order:

:: Needle felting a mushroom - Bri Leonard
Come needle felt a little mushroom to add some mycelium magic to your home. Needle felting is the process of poking wool over and over to form it into a dense shape. We'll be using red and white wool. If you want to make something else, that's totally cool too. Let your imagination run wild! *warning: accidentally poking yourself is a possibility
Facilitator Bio: I'm just an ADHD girl who has been through many hyperfixations. Needle felting was one of my favorites and I'd love to share it.
:: Intro to Improv :) - Willy
Hi! I think it would be really fun to teach y'all how to do improv! It's super fun, easy and the best part, you don't have to prepare anything! Some folks were curious about it at Summer Intention so I wanted to create a space to play. The workshop will entail talking about the basics, doing some warm ups and then going into improv games and little scenes. This is a safe place to explore and see what hilarity will ensue.
Facilitator Bio: Willy has been studying acting, improv, theatre, etc since he was a wee lad. He did improv all throughout high school and college and even went to the national improv games in Toronto for multiple years. He continued and was part of an improv troupe, further honing the fun art. He feels quite eager to share this with y'all and guarantees a good time.
:: Body love - yin yoga and massage - Shaina O'Neill

:: Kundalini Yoga and Chanting the Tantric Mool Mantra - Chamber
The Mool Mantra awakens consciousness, invites oneness, and helps us ascend to a state of limitless bliss, joy, and love.
We will chant it for 31 minutes.
Before we sit to chant the Mool Mantra, we will warm up our bodies with a Pranayam (breathwork) and a Kundalini Yoga kriya (yoga class), taught by Seva Simran Kaur (aka Chamber).
The Mool Mantra was composed by Guru Nanak, the 1st Sikh guru and a Sufi-influenced mystic and wandering minstrel who taught that the Sound Current is God – and we are God too.
We will use the very intense and delicious Tantric Mool Mantra recording of Simran and Guru Prem (featuring harmonium and tablas). It is upbeat and energetic and creates a Tantric balance of the Yin and Yang energies within us.
Mool Mantra:
Ek Ong Kar, Sat Nam, Karta Purkh, Nirbhao Nirvair, Akaal Moorat, Ajoonee Saibhan, Gur Prasad Jap, Aad Such, Jugaad Sach, Habee Sach, Nanak Hosee Bhee Sach
(I will bring printed Mantra Sheets.)

Please bring water, a yoga mat or sheepskin, loose, comfortable clothing (bonus if wearing white and a head covering), and whatever you need to be warm and comfortable.
Facilitator Bio: Seva Simran Kaur has practiced Kundalini Yoga since she was 18 and became a teacher in 2002. She has extra energy and discipline to spare: she was the only person to hold each pose impeccably for 3 days of White Tantric Yoga at Summer Solstice in New Mexico after her yoga teacher training (ouch!); and in accordance with Tantric Numerology, upon learning her challenge was the cultivate the Subtle Body, she reluctantly set out to meditate for 1,000 days in a row (one has to restart at the beginning if a day is missed). She completed 1,111 days, concluded meditation is a drug, and then weaned herself off through a rough withdrawal from the Sound Current. She believes the Sound Current is our universal, Galactic home, and that resonating together by chanting, singing, loving, meditating, and inhaling bass straight from the bins into the heart chakra literally IS God, as we somatically dance ourselves home.

Do whatever you like, really. Scissors, glue, magazines, art paper and bumpin tunes provided. It’s a lovely way to spend a morning with your friends, get loose and get creative.
Facilitator Bio: Kate Ferguson is an artist, has been a successful coach, and has taught at Vancouver Film School. She loves to love, loves to see people living their brightest, most self expressed lives, and believes creativity can be unlocked in any person. All it takes is the willingness to say yes to your ideas, and look for beauty in every nook and cranny.

• you want to find new, creative ways to express how you would like to touch and be touched

• you have visions of chambers where the human body is a portal to pleasure and connection
• you value consent
Please wear comfortable, loose clothing you can move in. Or sexy vampy ensembles, your finest raver chic, nothing at all, or whatever you damn please.
We will use card prompts and maybe create our own. If you only feel comfortable being touched by a specific human, bring ‘em along. We might mix ‘n match.
Part 2 of this workshop is to embody what we learn in the workshop later on the dancefloor.
Whether or not you participated in the workshop, come in consenting groups of two or more to find Chamber at the VJ station and receive a prompt for creative touch on the dancefloor. Please return all cards to me or place them on the altar where I’ll collect them at night’s end.
Facilitator Bio: Chamber is a sex-positive, queer-friendly academic trained in body-movement modalities including Kundalini Yoga and Tantric Practitioner Training, as well as meditation techniques focusing on the body as key to well-being. She advocates for embodied hedonism, the pursuit of pleasure as a radically feminist act, somatic practices including sexology as trauma- informed therapy, and orgasms for daily health. She wants to import love hotels to North America, believes sex work is real work, and seeks release for the pent-up stigmatizing of desire and consensual pleasure in our post-Christian culture. Rather than separate touch from sexuality, she wants to create a Sacred Union between the two in which folx are free to establish how much they want of either, without shame or shields or swords or closets.

:: Sat Nam Rayasan - Chamber
A healing workshop for 1-3 people to receive Sat Nam Rasayan from Seva Simran Kaur (aka Chamber). All you gotta do is lie there!
Or, come with a friend and one of you can learn the technique and practice it on the other at the same time.
Sat Nam Rasayan is an energetic healing modality within Kundalini Yoga, a somatic restorative practice in which the practitioner lays their hands on, or holds their hands directly above, the receiver. The name means, “deep relaxation in your true identity,” similar to soul-retrieval. The giver enters a state of shuniya, a zero-state where they open themselves with full surrender and radical acceptance of whatever arises, including resistance, allowing the Divine to flow through their energy field into the receiver. The giver is a conduit and allows healing energy to flow through them into the receiver however and wherever it needs to, without directing its flow.
Receiving Sat Nam Rasayan may create a feeling of lightness and deep relaxation.
Please bring a yoga mat or sheepskin, water, and whatever you need to be warm and comfortable while lying still for 10-30 minutes.
Please arrive on time ~ doors will close to create a closed container.
