Volunteers make the magic!

There are many ways to volunteer to help make Intention events happen. We organize through pods—small, focused volunteer groups responsible for specific areas like First Aid, Leave No Trace, or Decor. Whether you're a seasoned organizer or a first-time helper, joining a pod is the best way to contribute your skills, connect with the community, and help bring the event to life.

Here are some currently active pods you can consider joining.

How? Indicate an interest on your event registration form, or check in via our mailing list or the Facebook event page or group.

Transport Pod: Help load and reload the truck we use to haul our stuff to event sites. Everything must go! Heavy lifting required. For folks with strong backs and good truck packing skills.

Gate Pod: Greet people, check tickets, remind people of volunteer opportunities and answer questions. Great for extroverts with good communication and information skills.

Decor Pod: Make Intention beautiful! We have multiple spaces to decorate and a stage area to set up. It also helps to have the same folks focus on the decor at tear-down (which is everyone's job!).  Have a piece or a structure or WHATEVER you'd like to contribute to the weekend?

Peer Support Pod: Offer emotional support to anyone who needs it. That might look like a friendly chat, offering some consensual nurturing touch, or just quietly being with someone. We'll pair you up with someone, or sign up with a friend. A great gig for folks who naturally tend towards the counselling and healing arts.

Vibe Watch Pod: Keep Intention a safe and positive space by roaming about with an extra conscious edge. That means checking in with folks who look like they might need some help, and watching out for anyone being unsafe, non-consensual, or disruptive. Training will be provided. You'll be paired up. Extra support will be available via a radio. Great for folks who like to walk around and be friendly.

Family PodParents in our community would love to be able to dance after their kids go to bed. Volunteers sit near the kids' sleeping spots at night with a radio, to help connect any waking kids with their parent.  No 'child-minding' responsibilities (like feeding or bedtime) are involved. There is also one daytime shift to help entertain the kids while parents pack up.

First Aid Pod: Under our certified medic be available for first aid. If all goes well you'll just be on call with a radio ready to respond if needed. We're looking for anyone who has recent-ish first aid certification of any sort. If anything serious goes down, we're calling 911.

LNT Pod: Short shifts tidying up the party space in the morning, and then herding people and their lost-and-found things out of the space at the end of the event.
